FOAM is an interdisciplinary and independent student initiative with the aim to discuss topics related to architecture without pictures.
Concept of FOAM
Architecture is subject to many constraints that often dominate everyday office life, economic, technical, content and by law. That is precisely why the university has to do more than just professional preparation. For example, the architecture faculties need to ask themselves questions related to society, the history, the future, the sustainability and ethical guidelines and thus approach fields such as art and photography, philosophy, sociology, ethnology, economics and politics. The exchange with other disciplines is of great importance for reflection and constructs the architectural discourse accessible to a broader target group. The relevant topics should be discussed in an interdisciplinary manner. This can lead to an inspiring, reflected, creative and lively process that does equality to the real interdependencies of the disciplines.
